چکیده

This paper presents work-in-progress of the POSTDATA project. This project aims to provide means to solve the interoperability issues that exist among the digital poetry repertoires. These repertoires hold data of poetry metrics that is locked in their own databases and it is not freely available to be compared and to be used by intelligent machines that could infer over the data. The POSTDATA project will use Linked Open Data (LOD) technologies to overcome the interoperability problems. POSTDATA is developing a metadata application pro le (MAP) for the digital poetry repertoires, a construct that enhances interoperability. This development follows the method for the development of MAP (Me4MAP). A MAP for the digital poetry repertoires will open doors for these repertoires to be able to structure the data with a common model in order to publish it as Linked Open Data. This paper presents how this MAP is being developed so far.

A Metrics-Driven Approach for Quality Assessment of Linked Open Data

The main objective of the Web of Data paradigm is to crystallize knowledge through the interlinking of already existing but dispersed data. The usefulness of the developed knowledge depends strongly on the quality of the published data. Researchers have observed many deficiencies with regard to the quality of Linked Open Data. The first step towards improving the quality of data released as a p...

Evaluating digital poetry: Insights from the CAT

We test the Consensual Assessment Technique on recent digital poetry, using graduate students in Experimental Digital Media as judges. Our judges display good interrater agreement for the best and worst poems, but disagree on others. The CAT by itself may not be suitable for use on digital poetry; however, the behavior of quasi-expert judges when attempting this task gives us clues towards evid...

Towards Objective Quality Assessment in Digital Collections

Digital preservation makes high claims concerning the quality of digital artifacts. How to reach or maintain such high quality is currently subject to ongoing research. How to assure this quality is missing sufficient attention. On the one hand, many of the commonly applied quality metrics do not provide an accurate interpretation of information loss and distortions, on the other hand initial q...

Datavore: A Vocabulary Recommender Tool Assisting Linked Data Modeling

In this paper, we introduce the vocabulary recommendation system Datavore (Data vocabulary recommender). The tool is oriented towards metadata designers providing ranked lists of vocabulary terms to reuse in the web of data modeling process, together with additional metadata and cross-terms relations. Datavore relies on the Linked Open Vocabulary ecosystem for acquiring vocabularies and metadat...

An Interoperability Infrastructure for Digital Identifiers in e-Science

The rapid increase of scientific digital assets in the last years has made clear that digital identifiers are crucial for effectively publishing, accessing and managing digital information in e-science contexts. From persistent keys for access to digital objects in network environments, the concept of persistent identifiers has been more recently extended to identify also physical objects like ...
